"We thought once the renovation was done, the hard part was behind us."

A few years ago, my wife and I renovated our home here in Cincinnati. Full gut job. New systems, an addition, new landscaping, the works. We hired good people and did it right.

Once the crews left, we figured the hard part was over. It wasn't. That's when the real job started: a growing list of vendors to track down, seasonal maintenance to stay on top of, small projects that kept piling up. No one person or system handling any of it. I was the one chasing it all down, losing evenings to it.

Rookwood is the thing we wished existed. One trusted person who owns all of it for you, the way we needed someone to for our own home.

Cincinnati has a long history of people who built things meant to last. Rookwood Pottery is one of the clearest examples of it: hand-thrown, hand-glazed tile that still sits in fireplaces and entryways across some of the city's oldest homes, plenty of them in the same neighborhoods we work in today.

It's that same standard we hold ourselves to: work done well enough that someone's still glad of it decades later.
